IVORY dupioni Silk Victorian Inspired Shoulder Wrap

Hi Ladies,

Here is the latest piece I have worked on.

This is a Victorian inspired shoulder wrap. Its made with handspun raw silk. Raw silk is so luxurious and so good to work with. Its on of my favorite fabrics!

The shoulder wrap is a perfect accessory for a bride to be or future bridesmaids. I also like the fact that unlike the wedding dress, this accessory can be worn over and over again.

Raw silk almost has a papery feeling which makes it co-operate and its sits really well.

Beautiful Bride - Patrice Bynum

Hi Ladies,

I wanted to share a picture of a recently married bride that wore one of my handmade creations.

I had the pleasure of meeting Patrice a few weeks ago. She was shopping for accessories for her big day.

Patrice dressed up her beautiful wedding dress with a ivory raw silk shoulder wrap made with hand-spun silk.

I am so honored that she wore on of my creations on her wedding day. Its makes me so happy that it will be in her memories and wedding photos.

Victorian Inspired Couture Wrap

Hello Ladies,

I made this shoulder wrap with IVORY bridal satin. It is such a beautiful Victorian inspired wrap.

Its sits on the neck, wraps around the shoulders , under the arms and ties in the back. The ties in the back are made of Satin and measure approximately 30 inches each.

Because of the fact that this is a backless piece with ties, this accessory is one size fits all.

Vasini- A Dream Come True

Vasini has been a long time dream of mine. I have always wanted to create something beautiful with my two hands. I love handmade. Not only is it unique, its also eco- friendly. I am both creative, and business minded, and so I am opening a business that allows me to be creative!

Vasini- an Independent Fashion Label is born!

My long time dream has been to design clothes and accessories. But instead of following my heart and pursuing my dream, I made safe choices in life. Ever since childhood, I was conditioned to believe that I would find happiness in a "safe" job. One that came with good pay and occupational status.

After I obtained all the things, a college education, a "good" job that came with all the perks like a small cubicle, good pay, good benefits etc, I began to notice that my heart was not in it. There is only so long you can do something that you do not feel passionate about.

So I started thinking about pursuing something I felt passionate about. I want to chase my dreams and follow my heart. I want to create. Not only beautiful clothes, but also a beautiful business. I will be launching my online boutique on ETSY very soon.

The name of my business is Vasini (pronounced Va-see-ni). More to come on my blog soon.
